Huawei P30 series getting November 2020 security update in China

In China, Huawei has completed the EMUI 11 beta testing for the Huawei P30 series by releasing the EMUI 11 stable version that offers the latest EMUI 11 features including artistic always-on display, super notepad, AI subtitle, and more.

Now, Huawei has begun sending a new software update for Huawei P30 series users running on EMUI 10.1. This update mainly brings the security patch released in November 2020 that enhances the system security.

Moreover, Huawei is kicking off this latest EMUI 10.1 version for the P30 series users because to upgrade P30 smartphones on EMUI 11 this is the base version.

Version: Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones receiving EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.170 upgraded from 10.1.0.169.

Last month, Huawei P30 and P30 Pro global users have already grabbed the November 2020 security update that improves the system security. Now, a similar update is rolling out for Huawei P30 series users in China.

November 2020 Security Patch Details: November 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Honor phones including 3 critical and 15 high levels of CVEs.

HOW TO UPDATE P30 SERIES:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

THINGS TO KNOW:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.
