Huawei P30 on EMUI 10.1 receiving January update, EMUI 11 rollout will start soon

EMUI 11 rollout for the Huawei smartphones have been concluded in the Chinese region and Huawei P30 and P30 Pro also completed the installation of this latest EMUI version in the country.

However, the EMUI 11 for the Huawei P30 devices still under process for the global users, while other users have already participated in the beta activity to test the new features offered by the EMUI 11.

Meanwhile, the company is rolling out a new software update for the Huawei P30 and P30 Pro models that brings the latest security patch released in January 2021 and brings security improvements as well as performance improvement.

However, the changelog of this software update doesn’t mention any other improvement except for the security patch. Check the details below.

EMUI 11 rollout for P30 global users:

According to the global EMUI 11 rollout schedule, Huawei may begin the EMUI 11 update anytime in the first quarter of 2021. While we expect that this rollout could start in February 2021 and expand gradually.

January 2021 Security Patch Details: Installs security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 4 critical. 1 medium and 25 high levels of CVEs.

Build Version Details: Huawei P30 and P30 Pro users on EMUI 10.1 receiving EMUI 10.1.0.203 with an update size of 136MB.

How to check for software update:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
