Huawei P Smart 2018 is receiving June 2021 security patch and new apps

Huawei is rolling out a new software update for P Smart 2018 that comes with June 2021 security patch. The software update also includes several new apps that improve the overall user experience of the device.

According to Huaweiblog, the Huawei P Smart 2018 June 2021 security software update has a new EMUI version 9.1.0.235 and a software package size of 371 megabytes. This update brings new apps including Peta Search, Browser, Petal Maps, GameCenter, Link Now, Celia Keyboard, Celia Assistant, and more.

Users of the Huawei P Smart 2018 can install this update via the OTA software update. However, the update will expand gradually among different models.

Security:

  • Integrates security patches released in June 2021 for improved system security. For more information on the security of Huawei’s EMUI system updates.

Apps:

  • Adds the Huawei apps folder to the home screen to keep you up to date on popular apps.
    Adds quick download shortcuts for the following apps: Petal Search, Books, Petal Maps, GameCenter Member Center, Link Now, Browser, Celia Keyboard, and AI Voice. The apps can be downloaded by tapping the shortcuts. (Note: If the setting for Auto-update of apps in the AppGallery is set to On or Wi-Fi only, app updates are automatically downloaded and installed when the network connection is good.)

Update Note:

  • Your personal data will not be deleted by the update. However, we recommend that you back up important data before updating.
  • If you have problems during the update, call the Huawei customer service line or visit a Huawei customer service center.
  • The update package will be automatically deleted when the update is complete.
  • You have to keep the optimum level of battery level before upgrading to the latest software version
