Huawei Nova 7, 7 Pro and Enjoy 10e smartphones getting December 2020 security update

Last November, Huawei has completed the EMUI 11 beta testing program for Huawei Nova 7 and 7 Pro device in China by sending the stable EMUI 11 version to the beta tester as well as users on EMUI 10.1 via OTA.

After stable rollout, Huawei brought a new flash file transfer, the dynamic screen effect, added artistic theme, fixes bugs, as well as November 2020 security patch in the last update.

Now, Huawei has begun delivering the new software update for Nova 7, 7 Pro, and Enjoy 10e smartphone. This update comes with a security patch released in December 2020, which protects your device against threats that enhances system security.

New version details:

  • Huawei Nova 7 and 7 Pro users receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.141 upgraded from 11.0.0.140
  • Huawei Enjoy 10e users receiving EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.180 upgraded from 10.1.0.179.

Security: Integrates Android security patches released in December 2020 for improved system security.

December 2020 Security Patch Details: December 2020 security update install security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 1 critical and 11 high levels of CVEs.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

REMEMBER:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.
