Huawei improves Nova 7 SE 5G Vitality Edition system security via OTA update

Back in October 2020, Huawei has revealed a renewed version of the Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G smartphone. In the new version, the MediaTek Dimensity 800U is used instead of Kirin 820 5G. The new version is named Nova 7 SE 5G Vitality Edition in China.

Now, Huawei is sending a new software update for Nova 7 SE 5G Vitality Edition that comes with a security patch released in December 2020. This patch improves the device’s security and power to fight against threats.

On the other hand, Huawei has launched one more version of Nova 7 SE 5G on January 22, Huawei Nova 7 SE 5G Lohas Edition. This latest edition equipped with Kirin 820E by replacing Kirin 820 processor.

Update log:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in December 2020.

Security patch details: December 2020 security patch fixes 1 critical and 11 high levels of CVEs for improved system security.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

POINTS TO KNOW:

  1. The availability of these updates may vary.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.
