Huawei Mate 60 could respawn 5G?

Amid the launch preparations of the Huawei P60 series, some users are talking about the Mate 60 and 5G network. Currently, Huawei has not revealed plans for 5G but there’s more to discuss on this matter.

A Weibo blogger was discussing 5G in Huawei Mate 60 patent and speculated the flagship will mark the return of 5G connectivity in Huawei smartphones. However, there’s no claim or official information available on this matter at the moment. Still, it’s interesting news and every Huawei smartphone user could be excited about it.

5G a big deal:

For now, 5G is missing in Huawei phones and the company has released a variety of models including flagship devices. However, the reason behind this missing technology lies in the U.S. ban. With a wider restriction on Huawei chipset manufacturing in 2020, Huawei lost access to the 5G modem chipset.

Afterward, Huawei is launching only a 4G chipset with a heavy reliance on the Qualcomm Snapdragon chip.

Trademark:

A number of the patent application reveals that Huawei has trademarked upcoming Mate flagship models including Mate 60 RS and Mate 60 GTS. Other than these, Huawei has also trademarked Mate 70, Mate 80, Mate 90, and Mate 100 in advance.

Aside from Huawei Mate 60 RS Porsche Design, there could be an interesting model in the form of Huawei Mate 60 GTS.

Dual Flagship:

In 2021, for the first time, Huawei launched only the P50 series and there was no Mate 50. While the company had to wait an entire year to reveal Mate 50 series in 2022.

But this year, Huawei will return to the dual flagship era. In the first half of this year, Huawei will reveal the P60 series and in the second half, there will be the Mate 60 lineup.

Surprise:

Yes, the situation is still a bit tough for Huawei but the Chinese tech maker is still working on things that could surprise us. Until then, we’ve to wait and watch.
