Honor 20 smartphone on Magic UI 4 getting May 2021 security improvements

The May 2021 security update is releasing for the Honor 20 smartphone in the Indian market. On the other hand, some of the Honor 20 users reported that they’ve not yet received the Magic UI 4 upgrade.

To be mentioned, After the separation of Huawei and Honor, the previously launched devices are now under the support of Huawei.

The quad-camera-equipped Honor 20 phone was launched in 2019 with a 6.26-inch display, Kirin 980 processor, EMUI 9.0, 48MP rear quad camera system, 32MP front camera, and more. However, this smartphone is currently working on Magic UI 4.

According to the information, Huawei has pushed a new Magic UI 4 version 11.0.0.161 (C675E3R1P4) for Honor 20 Indian users with an update size of 188MB. However, we can expect that the same software update has been expanding to global users.

Is Honor 20 is eligible for HarmonyOS 2?

At the moment, HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing is going in for Huawei and Honor Chinese variants. In the first batch of HarmonyOS 2.0 beta testing for Honor devices, there were 12 devices including Honor 20 and 20 Pro.

Recently, these smartphones received the first HarmonyOS 2 closed beta update that brings a whole new operating system and user interface to provide the next level user experience.

Since the Honor 20 series is eligible for HarmonyOS 2.0 in-home ground so, the same fate is also decided for the global variants. It is expected that soon or later these smartphones will get the hands-on new OS but we’ll have to wait for an official confirmation.
