Breaking: HarmonyOS 2 testing for Huawei P20 and Mate 10 series will start this month

Huawei has officially confirmed that HarmonyOS 2 beta testing for Huawei P20 and Mate 10 devices will start around mid-July. This is a big announcement for the Huawei P20 and Mate 10 devices users.

According to the official upgrade plan, Huawei Mate 10 and P20 smartphones are scheduled to receive in the first half of 2022 but the boost in HarmonyOS 2 testing allowed Huawei to bring the new operating system to these devices in a fast manner.

The announcement reveals that this testing will include the following models:

  1. Huawei P20
  2. Huawei P20 Pro
  3. Huawei Mate 10
  4. Huawei Mate 10 Pro
  5. Huawei Mate 10 RS

However, a recruitment post will be announced as soon as the company opens the recruits of the testers.

Huawei P20 and Mate 10:

Both Huawei P20 and Mate 10 models run the Android 10 based EMUI 10 software. Upgrading these devices to HarmonyOS 2 will be the biggest challenge for Huawei, as it may occur some compatibility issues due to the old hardware limitations but we definitely want to see, how it overcomes these challenges.

So, far Huawei a number of closed beta testing recruitment as well as public beta activities, and several Huawei and Honor phones have successfully adopted the HarmonyOS 2 test build.

These registered testers are now moving towards the stable rollout and then we could possibly see a rollout for the global users.

HarmonyOS 2 operating system comes with a brand new user interface that installs new features as well as animations effects compared to the EMUI software system to provide a new kind of user experience.

Huawei P20 and Mate 10 Global Users:

Huawei P20 and Mate 10 series global users are also excited about this news and waiting to get their hands on the new OS but Huawei has not made a move on this matter and we’ll have to keep waiting until the company comes up with a global rollout plan.
