HarmonyOS 2.0 public beta announced for different Honor devices

Huawei has officially announced the public HarmonyOS 2 beta for Honor 30S, Play 4, X10, and Honor smartphones. The kick start of this activity will allow EMUI users to directly take part in the HarmonyOS 2 beta testing in China.

The existing users have been prioritized under this Honor HarmonyOS 2 public beta program. However, the new EMUI users may have to wait a bit to get their test application approved. Once done, they’ll receive a beta build via OTA update.

  • Honor Play4
  • Honor X10 Max

Required EMUI version:

  • Honor 30 Youth Edition: Required Magic UI version 3.1.1.211
  • Honor Play 4: Required Magic UI version 3.1.1.211
  • Honor X10 Max: Required Magic UI version 3.1.1.211
  • Honor X10: Required Magic UI version 3.1.1.202
  • Honor 30S: Required Magic UI version 3.1.1.220

The new HarmonyOS 2.0 comes with a whole bunch of features and a brand new UI. It has a lot to offer over the previous EMUI software. These functionalities and new changes include service widgets, HarmonyOS fonts, super device, smart folder, and much more.

Via My Huawei app:

  • Open My Huawei app >> go to Home >> open Early Adopters and then Check Public Beta Early Adopter

via Huawei Club:

  • Go to Huawei Club
  • Check
  • Public Beta Early Adopter

Things to remember 

  • Make sure your device is not root.
  • Keep your device updated with the required version (mentioned above).
  • Maintain enough storage (at least 10GB) on your device.
  • Take a backup of your important data.
