EMUI 11 second beta update rolling out for Huawei Nova 5 Pro and Mate 20 X 5G

Back in November, Huawei has recruited 8 Huawei and Honor devices including Huawei Nova 5 Pro, MediaPad M6 series, Honor 20, 20 Pro, V20, and Magic 2. In the same month of registration, the company has kicked off the first EMUI 11 beta version for these devices that brings new EMUI 11 features.

Now, Huawei has begun sending the EMUI 11 second beta version for Nova 5 Pro and Mate 20 X 5G registered users that offers a new bright screen dynamic effect, optimizations for MeeTime, third-party applications, multitasking interface, and display effect.

In the meantime, Huawei Nova 5 Pro, Mate 20 X 5G, Honor 20, 20 Pro, and V20 users running on EMUI 10.1 grabbed the November 2020 security patch that brings improvements for system security and fixes 3 critical and 15 high levels of CVE’s.

Version: 

  • Huawei Nova 5 Pro receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.127/128 upgraded from 11.0.0.115/116.
  • Huawei Mate 20 X 5G getting EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.125 upgraded from 11.0.0.115.

Bright screen dynamic effect: The screen gradually lights up when the screen is turned on to give the eyes time to adapt to the light source.

MeeTime: Optimization display experience of MeeTime messages.

Display: Optimizes the display effect of the volume bar in some scenes.

System: Fix the problem that some scenes cannot enter the multitasking interface by sliding up from the bottom of the screen.

For Huawei Mate 20 X 5G:

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

NOTE:

  1. Currently, this update is rolling out in China.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.
