Display, January and February 2021 updates rolling out for Huawei P40 Lite users

Huawei P40 Lite is one of the most popular variants of the P40 lineup. This smartphone unpacks with EMUI 10 and further received EMUI 10.1 upgrades. However, EMUI 11 major update is still pending for this smartphone.

On the other side, Huawei regularly sends software and feature updates for its devices for further improvements to deliver a wonderful device operating experience for users.

In this line, Huawei has started releasing a new software update for the P40 lite smartphone users. This update contains two packages, which mainly bring the security patch released in January and February 2021 respectively along with system optimizations.

Aside from the P40 lite, the P- series next flagship P50 series leaks, and renders are streaming online recently, revealing its design and hardware components. The main attraction of this series is its massive camera, which could come in a Penta camera setup. (Read More)

Software update details:

New EMUI version: The Huawei P40 lite users can identify this update with the software built 10.1.0.311 and an update package size of 431MB.

Update Package 1 Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in January 2021.

January 2021 Security Patch Details: Installs security fixes for different levels of exploits and issues within Huawei phones including 4 critical, 1 medium, and 25 high levels of CVEs.

Display: Optimizes elements of the user interface in certain scenes.

System: Improve system stability in certain scenarios.

Update Package 2 Changelog:

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in February 2021.

February 2021 Security Patch Details: February 2021 security patch fixes 2 critical and 26 high levels, and 77 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

UPDATE STEPS:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & Updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
