Huawei Nova 7 global users receiving new software update, which improves system security

Huawei has started sending a new software update for Nova 7 5G global variant. This update mainly installs the security patch released in February 2021, which fixes different levels of exploits and issues for improved system security.

Apart from this, EMUI 11 is the latest Android-based mobile OS of Huawei for which eligible devices across the globe are waiting to installs and experience the new EMUI 11 features and improvements.

However, Huawei Nova 7 5G initially unpacks with EMUI 10.1 and compatible with further upgrades. After the launch of EMUI 11, this device has also been part of the beta activity and received the stable version on home ground.

Further, the company expanded the EMUI 11 for Nova 7 5G in the global market and delivered the stable EMUI 11 builds. However, the official rollout is in its early stage so it may take to cover all devices of different regions.

In the meantime, Nova 7 5G users can install the latest firmware update that protects their device against threats. To update follow the update steps mentioned in the article.

What’s New in this update:

EMUI Version: Huawei Nova 7 5G smartphone getting EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.149 with an update size of 297MB.

Security: Integrates the Android security patch released in February 2021.

Security patch details: February 2021 security patch fixes 2 critical and 26 high levels, and 77 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

Things to know:

  • The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
    EMUI version and size may vary.
  • Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

HOW TO INSTALL:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
