Camera, Fingerprint and System improvements rolling out for Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro

Last December, Huawei launched two new models in the Nova series, Huawei Nova 8 and Nova 8 Pro. These smartphones released with the latest hardware and software technology that includes EMUI 11 OS skin, Kirin 985 7nm processor, and more.

Following the launch, now Huawei has started sending the second software update for Nova 8 smartphones. This update brings new optimizations for camera effect, fingerprint unlocking, gaming and improves system stability that enhances overall device performance.

The first software update of the Nova 8 series brought December 2020 security patch that improves system security and optimizations for camera effect, fingerprint unlocking, and more.

NEW VERSION:

  • Huawei Nova 8 smartphone receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.126 upgraded from 11.0.0.121.
  • Huawei Nova 8 Pro smartphone receiving EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.121 upgraded from 11.0.0.118

UPDATE LOG:

For Nova 8:

  • Optimize the shooting effect of the camera in some scenes   
  • Optimize the system stability

For Nova 8 Pro:

  • Optimize the gaming experience
  • Optimize the fingerprint unlocking experience in some scenarios
  • Optimize the system stability 

REMEMBER:

  1. The availability of these updates may vary.
  2. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  3. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop-up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.
