Over the past three years, Apple has not made any significant innovation in the iPhone but the return of Huawei will drag it out of its comfort zone, says an industry analyst – Ming-chi Kuo.

Kuo mentioned on X, formerly known as Twitter, that Huawei’s comeback is a good thing for consumers and will force Apple to actively innovate in iPhone devices.

He mentioned that two of the standard iPhone 15 model comes with stacked CIS. However, if it wasn’t for the US ban, Huawei would have been the first smartphone company to use CIS even before 2023.

The stacked-designed CIS (Complementary Metal-Oxide-Semiconductor) is a recent technological advancement involving the addition of extra layers above the photodiode layer. This enhancement aims to optimize the camera system’s circuitry. These added layers bring benefits like improved noise reduction, brighter image rendering, heightened detail capture, and overall superior image processing.

Amid US restrictions, Huawei kept on researching new technologies and returned with a 5G chipset. Huawei Mate 60 Pro comes with a new Kirin 9000s chip, which currently rocking the internet. Most of the tech community and consumers are talking about the sudden launch of the Mate 60 series and Apple is one of the key phone makers that may get sales loss due to the growing popularity of this new device.

The new competition from Huawei will surely leave a mark on Apple and drag it out of its comfort zone to bring new technologies in iPhones for consumers.
