January 2022 HarmonyOS update rolling out for Honor 30 series

Honor 30 January 2022 update

Honor 30 series smartphone users began collecting the latest HarmonyOS software update that contains January 2022 security patch. This update debuted to increase the security level of the system and protect the device against threats.

With the January 2022 security improvement, Huawei fixes the 130 privacy and security-related vulnerabilities found in the framework, system, application, and third-party libraries of the HarmonyOS software system.

Models receiving update:

  • Honor 30 (BMH-AN10)
  • Honor 30 (BMH-AN20)
  • Honor 30 (BMH-TN10)
  • Honor 30 Pro (EBG-AN00)
  • Honor 30 Pro (EBG-TN00)
  • Honor 30 Pro+ (EBG-AN10)

All the above-mentioned Honor 30 smartphone users can identify the January 2022 software update with HarmonyOS version 2.0.0.220. However, to upgrade over the latest firmware the Honor 30 users need base version 2.0.0.216 while the Honor 30 Pro and Pro+ required HM OS build version 2.0.0.218.

Speaking about the Honor 30 series, it was launched in April 2020 with Magic UI 3.1 based on Android 10 out of the box. Further, this series grabbed Magic UI 4 major update and followed by HarmonyOS 2.0 software rollout. Now, these Honor 30 smartphones performing well in the user’s hands with the HarmonyOS system.

To be mentioned, all the Honor devices launched before the separation of Huawei and Honor are now in the care of Huawei. According to their eligibility, Huawei rolls out regular updates for a better user experience.

If you are Honor 30 series smartphone user, you can check the new software update by visiting the phone’s settings or the My Huawei app. Both the ways are mentioned below.

Through Settings:

Open the Settings, tap on system & updates, then open the software updates. Now, a page on the screen, from here tap on CHECKS FOR UPDATE. Wait for a minute and let the phone fetch a new update for you. If an update is available, download and install it.

Through My Huawei app:

Open the My Huawei app, make sure that the update is running on the latest version. Then, visit the update section and follow-on screen instructions to download and install the update.
