Recently, Huawei has officially announced that the Huawei Wallet app supports the SAIC MG One digital car key (sensorless smartphone car key). Last July, the SAIC Motor under the MG marque launched the MG One SUV car with a modular architecture, stylish design, powerful chip, and active digital ecosystem.

According to Huawei, the activation of SAIC MG Motor’s car key in the Huawei Wallet app allows the users can operate the key function without using the taking out the key. Also, once the connection is established between the car key and Huawei Wallet the users can perform tasks without unlocking the smartphone and even in no network connection.

To be mentioned, this digital car key is currently only supported on the SAIC MG One car. The SAIC MG One car owners can perform tasks with a digital car key such as unlocking the vehicle, starting the vehicle, opening doors, windows, and more.   • Open Huawei Wallet App on smartphone
  • Tap on Keys
  • Select Car Keys
  • Tap on MG Car Keys
  • Click the Add option
  • Follow on-screen instruction
  • Activate the MG Car keys

Huawei Wallet:

On December 30, Huawei Wallet launched the industry’s first digital car key that supports Bluetooth and NFC. However, the digital car key function of the Huawei Wallet is supported on the smartphones running on HarmonyOS 2.0 and the Watch 3 series.

Furthermore, the Chinese tech maker will soon expand this feature to more Huawei smartwatches to experience this ultimate service. By using the digital car key, the car owner can keep the physical at home and get rid of the problem of forgetting to bring a car key, losing a car key, and replacing a physical car battery without even opening the car app manually.
