Huawei revealed new generation of Good Hope camera with advanced imaging system

On 29 March 2021, at Huawei Good Hope new generation camera and 2021 new product launch conference were held in Zhuhai, Guangdong. At the event, the President of Huawei’s machine vision – Duan Aiguo disclose three new technology and next-level cameras.

This time Huawei released SuperColor, SuperCoding, and AI Turbo cameras as well as seven new products including the new generation of cameras. Let’s take a brief look at them.

SuperColor: Relying on the “Mozi” series of lenses, “Candle Dragon” series of Sensors, and ISP computing power to exchange images, to create an all-weather ultimate image experience, making people look more comfortable and let the machine see more accurately.

SuperCoding: Through refined ROI analysis, pixel-level segmentation of video streams, hierarchical quality evaluation, intelligent and precise code control, etc., to create the longest storage solution for value videos, with 1TB as 3TB storage.

AI Turbo: Hardwareize video AI operators to maximize hardware capabilities, use enhanced inference engines to save resource consumption, optimize algorithm models with high compression ratios to adapt to complex scene-based applications.

Seven new products that define the future of images:

1. AI Turbo Camera:

This is the first product revealed by Duan Aiguo at the event. It comes with a “Cube” binocular full-color technology, which is the combination of RGBW super-sensitive sensor, DNN ISP real-time video noise reduction, AI HDR full target enhancement, and Deblur to remove motion smear.

2. AI ultra-low-light camera 2.0:

The high-sensitivity low-light camera has the capability of capturing both visible and near-infrared images with low noise at low lighting conditions, or even no light conditions.

AI ultra-low-light camera 2.0 has an increased resolution with even greater low-light performance enables higher accuracy compared with version 1.0.

3. AI dual-spectrum thermal imaging camera 2.0:

Thermal imaging cameras (TIC) are a type of thermographic camera used in video surveillance and firefighting. This device forms an image using infrared radiation, similar to a common camera that forms an image using visible light.

The 2.0 version will allow the operator to see longer distance areas of heat, faster fire detection. This camera of a visible spectrum forms a high-resolution image, using an upgraded high light sensitivity sensor.

4. Eco-camera 2.0:

Eco-thermal cameras offer superior AI performance and this upgraded version 2.0 will support a combination of multiple power distribution methods, with stronger power storage capacity, more flexible remote on-demand wake-up, and a wider sensing range.

5. Intelligent video storage IVS3800 2.0:

Huawei’s security brand- Huawei HoloSens brings the industry’s first intelligent video-based on cloud platform HoloSens IVS3800 that meets the security needs of holographic perception and data intelligence.

The upgraded version will use SuperCoding super coding technology and large-scale elastic EC technology for storing the valuable data.

6. Intelligent video storage IVS1800 2.0:

IVS1800 is an intelligent micro-edge platform and embedded Operating System powered by Artificial Intelligence (AI) computing power.

IVS1800 2.0 has more integrates storage, compute, and search capabilities that functioned on the Huawei Cloud AI market and super coding technology.

7. Holographic intersection solution 2.0:

The solution combines radar, camera, edge computing, high-precision maps, and other technologies to digitize and smarten the road infrastructure through real-time intersection data collection and analysis.

The upgraded version will support the acquisition of all elements of a machine, non-human, and human. It will rationally optimize signal control; it also adapts to multiple intersection forms such as a cross, T-shaped, X-shaped, Y-shaped, overpass, and super-large intersection.
