Huawei P40 smartphones on EMUI 11 receiving a new software update with security improvements

The Huawei P40 is Huawei’s one of the flagship series and also the best-selling smartphones 0f P-family. These P40 models were launched with EMUI 10.1 based on Android 10.

After the release of the EMUI 11, Huawei began the enrollment of eligible devices for beta testing before stable rollout. This program allows the users to experience the latest custom OS features ahead of the official release.

As of now, the Huawei P40 along with Mate 40 and MatePad Pro series smartphone becomes the first to installs the latest EMUI 11 on home ground as well as globally. It features a new artistic always-on display, multiwindow-multitasking, super notepad, AI-subtle, privacy modes, and more.

Now, Huawei has started sending a new software update for Huawei P40 series smartphones. This update mainly installs the security patch released in January 2021 that fixes different levels of exploits and issues for improved system security. However, this update is available for both China and global users.

To be mentioned, Huawei almost delivered the January 2021 security patch for all of its devices, which are under the monthly update list. But, the company is now pushing this security improvement for its high-end smartphone lineup, Huawei P40.

On the other hand, On February 26, Huawei has revealed the 4G variant of the P40, which is equipped with Kirin 990 SoC as well as the rest of the specifications are similar to P40 5G. However, this smartphone is only available in China. Read more

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

• Open Settings
• Click on the System 
• Open Software update
• Tap on Check for updates option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

• Open the Support app on your device
• Go to the Service tab
• Click on the update button
• Tap on Check for update option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device
