Huawei P40 Lite 5G on EMUI 10.1 getting a new software with security improvements

Huawei P40 Lite 5G smartphone was initially revealed with pre-installed EMUI 10.1 and currently working on the same version. According to the company’s eligible criteria, this device is compatible to run on EMUI 11.

In the meantime, Huawei has begun sending a new software update for P40 Lite 5G device, which brings the security improvements released in January 2021. This security update fixes different levels of exploits and issues to enhance system security.

Previously, it was reported that the Huawei P40 Lite/Nova 7i/Nova 6 SE devices able to run on EMUI 11. Last February, Huawei Egypt responded to this and clears user’s doubts, and said Nova 7i will receive EMUI 11 somewhere around March 25, 2021.

After hearing this news, P40 Lite/Nova 7i/Nova 6 SE users feeling good because if Nova 7i will grab the EMUI 11 then the other similar model from the different region will also receive.

In the last update, the company has brought optimization for display interface, system stability to improve device performance as well as installs the December 2020 security patch for improved system security.

EMUI Version: Huawei P40 Lite 5G smartphone users grabbing EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.225 upgraded from 10.1.1.215 with an update size of 203MB.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device
