Huawei P40 and P40 Pro first update brings Camera, System, Fingerprint and security improvements

Huawei P40 series was launched on March 26, and comprising three models – Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro+. Except for Huawei P40 Pro+, Huawei P40 and P40 Pro have already started selling in the global market.

The Huawei P40 series comes with new Ultra Vision Leica camera setups, a new display design, and the first set of Huawei phones to ship with EMUI 10.1 software.

Since these are fresh devices, the company has started sending the very first software update with new features such as Golden Snap and Sound Booster. The update also brings improvements to the camera, Fingerprint optimizations, and March 2020 security.

Note: Huawei P40 Pro+ is not released at the moment but the same update may also roll out for the device after its launches.

According to Huaweiblog.de, the company is rolling out the first update for Huawei P40 devices with the following changes:

Camera:

Adds the Huawei Golden Snap function, which allows you to capture certain moments, take moving pictures (moments), reduce reflections and remove passers-by.

Tap the shutter button to take and edit moments to take photos with different effects. Improves the sharpness of videos recorded from a distance or in dark environments.

Optimizes the anti-blur function of the camera and improves the recording experience during video recordings.

System:
Adds the Sound Booster Feature and Find my phone option.

Fingerprint Unlock:
Optimizes fingerprint unlock for enhanced performance.

Security:
Installs March 2020 security patch, fixing 2 critical and 20 high levels of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE).

Note: The update is rolling out in batches, so it may take some time/days to reach your phone.

Note: EMUI version and package size may vary depending on the country/region.

CHECK FOR THE UPDATE:

  1. Open Settings
  2. Click on ‘System & updates
  3. Click on ‘Software update
  4. Click on ‘CHECK FOR UPDATES
  5. Click on ‘Download and install
