Huawei has released a new software update for the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro devices in China. The latest update for the Huawei P20 older flagships comes with HarmonyOS 2.0 version update and brings a package size of 645 megabytes.

According to the information, the HarmonyOS software update for the Huawei P20 and P20 Pro comes with a bunch of new features including the new service center optimizations. On the other hand, the company is sending a new service widget for the gallery, adding a new Celia keyboard and optimizations for the Celia Voice assistant.

On the other hand, the company is sending improvements for the system features including security by installing September 2021 security patch.

Huawei P20 series in the global market has received EMUI software update that has brought a number of new applications for this veteran Huawei device. Furthermore, the company has also improved its security by installing July 2021 patch.

  • Service Center: In the service center (swipe up from the left or bottom-right edge of the screen to enter), add a scene-based service combination on the “Discover” tab and add it to the desktop to automatically adapt to the service widget and one-click access to similar services.
  • Input method: Added quick download icon of Celia keyboard app (click to download and use directly), Celia Keyboard can bring you a simple and safe input experience.
  • Service Widget: Added support for cameras and the gallery app, slide up the app icon to generate a card, you can select the card size, drag to change the position, change the appearance of the home screen.
  • Display: Fix the problem of abnormal display of some home screen icons.
  • System: Care for the elders, optimize basic experiences such as touch and volume, and add home screen icon magnification.
  • Security: Integrates into the security patch of September 2021 to enhance the security of the mobile phone system.

It is noted, that this rollout is limited to the Chinese models and it’s not available for the global Huawei P20 devices.
