This agreement came on the sidelines of a meeting between Chinese president Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, reported SCMP.

The deal will bring “the development of 5G technologies and the pilot launch of the fifth-generation network in 2019-2020”, said MTS.

Guo Ping, deputy chairman of the board and rotating chairman of Huawei, said he was “Very happy” with the agreement “in an area of strategic importance like 5G”.

This deal is considered as a major business achievement for Huawei after the events of last month when the U.S. imposed a business restriction on Huawei.
