Huawei Nova 5T on EMUI 10.1 getting new improvements for security with November update

Huawei is rapidly enrolling more of its eligible device for the EMUI 11 beta testing program in different regions and sending the respective EMUI 11 beta builds for the registered devices. After the completion of beta testing, Huawei pushes a stable EMUI 11 OTA for existing beta testers as well as EMUI 10.1 users.

Adding to this, Huawei has already started EMUI 11 beta program for the Huawei Nova 5T in different markets including Europe, South East Asia, and UK to test the new EMUI 11 feature.

According to the official EMUI 11 global rollout schedule, the Nova 5T users will receive the stable EMUI 11 version in the first quarter 0f 2021. On the other hand, Huawei is still sending a monthly security patch for Nova 5T users running on EMUI 10.1.

Now, Huawei has started releasing a new software update for Nova 5T users. This update comes with the latest security patch released in November 2020, which enhances the system security.

VERSION DETAILS AND CHANGELOG:

Version: Huawei Nova 5T users receiving EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.0.289 with update size of 132MB.

Security: Install the latest November 2020 security patch that fixes the 3 critical and 15 high levels of CVE’s.

POINTS TO KEEP IN MIND:

  1. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
  2. The update will not erase any data.

HOW TO UPDATE:

Download via Settings:

  • Open Settings
  • Click on the System & updates
  • Open Software update
  • Tap on Check for updates option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

  • Open the Support app on your device
  • Go to the Service tab
  • Click on the update button
  • Tap on Check for update option
  • If an update is available, click on Download and install
  • After installation Reboot the device.
