Huawei has started testing the Huawei Mobile Services (HMS) and HMS Core applications that aim to replace the use of Google Mobile Services. In the meantime, we have got new news on this matter, revealing that both HMS and GMS can work side by side.

Today, a tipster informed us that the HMS suite can also be installed in older Huawei or Honor devices certified with Google services rather than only on the smartphones running the open-source Android such as the Mate 30 series, Nova 6 series and Honor V30 series.

After the US trade ban, Huawei is prohibited from certifying new smartphones with Google mobile services, and the company then announced its Huawei Mate 30 series with HMS.

HMS is a set of applications and services developed by Huawei for its device ecosystem, such services include Huawei ID (Account), Payment services, Message Notification, Virtual Wallet, Security Verification and more.

On the other hand, the HMS Core test package contains 6 HMS basic service apps including, Game, User Data Authentication, In-app purchases, Identity verification, Scan and Machine Learning.
