What is Huawei Mobile Services (HMS)?
HMS is a set of applications and services providing many advanced features like Huawei ID, push notifications, payments and other services from Huawei for its device ecosystem. And to deliver a smarter, faster and better seamless experience. Since Huawei cannot use Google Mobile Services (GMS), the company has decided to expand HMS throughout its global users.

Huawei is also expanding its Huawei Music with over 150 million downloads, Huawei Video with over 130 million and the Huawei assistant with over 140 million downloads.
According to Huawei, the Huawei Mate 30 series comes pre-installed with Huawei AppGallery an official application distribution platform. Since its global launch in April 2018, AppGallery has been serving more than 400 million global monthly active users in more than 170 countries and regions.
The company also informed that the accumulated downloads have reached 180 billion within a year and the number of overseas apps released on Huawei App Gallery is increasing as more developers join the HMS ecosystem.
The AppGallery also provides recommendations to Mate 30 series users according to their location and country selection. Intelligent recommendations include local and nearby apps, popular local apps for an enhanced experience.
Huawei Browser is a secure and easy-to-use mobile browser, providing Internet browsing experience, search service and complete privacy protection for the users. Currently, there are more than 200 million monthly active users worldwide.
Huawei Mobile Cloud:
Huawei Mobile Cloud protects data security from account authentication, data transmission, and data storage. It can securely store important data such as photos, videos, and contacts, and realize multi-end data synchronization to help users manage data safely and conveniently. The amount of monthly active users has reached 160 million globally.
Through the versatile lock screen, personalized icons and tens of thousands of online themes, Huawei Themes brings a different experience to users around the world with a colorful and versatile design. The global monthly active users exceed 70 million.
Users can listen to high-definition music through Huawei Music, and enjoy a wide range of music content and apps such as tens of millions of music libraries, popular song lists, audiobook channels, HiFi zones anytime and anywhere.

Developers of HMS Core capabilities and services only need to integrate the HMS Software Development Kit in order to use Huawei’s open capabilities.

Huawei will invest 35 Million Euros to find European Talent for Telecom
Huawei announced to invest 35 million euros to cultivate European ICT Talent under its Seeds for the Future 2.0 program. The company’s executives made this big announcement at the Huawei European Innovation Day.
Furthermore, this Chinese tech firm intends to support this digital Europe program for five years. In addition, there will be a new talent expansion program and the Seeds for the Future Scholarship by Huawei to support the European ICT professionals.
The company sees digital talent as the key to digital transformation and economic growth. Thereby, offering possible help to the professionals and students to upskill their talents. In this line, it’s currently negotiating with other educational organizations.
Besides, it already helped numerous students while more are joining the program. Simultaneously, it’s also inviting them to be a part of TECH4ALL Guardian projects and contribute to developing digital talent.

Counterpoint released Q3 2021 smartphone sales report, Huawei shows even performance
On 28th October 2021, Counterpoint released Q3 2021 smartphone sales report evaluating the China smartphone market. Despite the US-Sanction, chip shortage, and lack of 5G RF components, Huawei shows even performance for this quarter.
In the last quarter, Vivo, OPPO, Xiaomi, Apple, and Huawei gained 23%, 21%, 17%, 14%, and 10% of the market while in 2021 Q3 has Vivo, OPPO, Honor, Xiaomi, and Apple on top five. However, the decline in the former smartphone market ruler is quite expected.
According to the Counterpoint smartphone sales report for Q3 2021, Huawei has a 77% of YoY drop, and an 18% QoQ drop with 13% of the market share. Meanwhile, the company recorded a 10% market share for Q2 2021 while a YoY decrease of 72%.
We can say, the company has a uniform performance with a slight increase in market shares concerning the current situation. There are some factors to be blamed among them 4G processor of the Huawei P50 lineup comes first.
Although the only lacking of this smartphone is negligible seeing its flagship capacity, 5G was on demand during this quarter. Second is the delay in the launch of the Huawei Mate 50 smartphone, which can’t contribute to sales.
In addition, other vendors like Vivo, OPPO, Apple, and Xiaomi were successful to attract users with 5G network demands. It made the users give up on Huawei and enjoy 5G network with other brands. Yet, we hope for the company to regain its market in the upcoming time however, it’ll take a while.
