On September 9th, Huawei launched the Mate X5 foldable smartphone and the phone has high volume targets for this device, revealed Ross Young, an analyst at DSCC (Display Supply Chain Consultants).

Mr. Young mentioned on X, formerly known as Twitter, that display panel shipment for Huawei Mate X5 started in June this year. The phone has a high volume of targets to fetch the required screen panel for the Mate X5. This indicates that the company is planning to make the availability wider than the Mate X3.

According to the information, Huawei Mate X5 comes with 5G connectivity. This is a major factor for this new side folding device, which is identical to its predecessor.

Talking about the display, the Huawei Mate X5 uses a 7.85-inch main screen and a 6.4-inch cover screen. The foldable display specs vary in the standard and Collector’s Edition.

The standard Mate X5 uses foldable flexible OLED and supports up to 120 Hz refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and up to 240 Hz touch sampling rate. The Collector’s Edition of Mate X5 uses foldable flexible OLED, supports 1-120 Hz LTPO adaptive refresh rate, 1440 Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, and up to 240 Hz touch sampling rate.

It’s good to see that Huawei is targeting a high volume shipment of Huawei Mate X5 display to fulfill the customer demand.
