Huawei Maimang 9 5G gets October 2020 security update

Huawei is sending new software updates for Huawei Maimang 9 5G, which brings the security patch released in October 2020 that improves the system security of the device.

In July, Huawei has launched the Huawei Maimang 9 5G exclusively in China, which offers a 6.8-inch display with FHD+ (2400 x 1080) resolution, 64MP AI triple camera setup, EMUI 10.1, good battery life, and more.

Aside from this, Huawei is underway to test the eligible devices for EMUI 11 and sending EMUI 11 betas as well as the stable version. Recently, Huawei has officially claimed that EMUI 11 has reached 10 million devices within 3 months. Read more

VERSION AND CHANGELOG: 

• Huawei Maimang 9 getting EMUI 10.1 version 10.1.1.196 updated from 10.1.1.195.
• Installs the October 2020 security patch that fixes 21 high-levels and 1 medium level of CVE’s.

THINGS TO KNOW:

1. The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
2. The update will not erase any data.

UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS FOR HUAWEI MAIMANG 9 :

Download via Settings:

• Open Settings
• Click on the System & updates
• Open Software update
• Tap on Check for updates option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device

Download via Support app:

• Open the Support app on your device
• Go to the Service tab
• Click on the update button
• Tap on Check for update option
• If an update is available, click on Download and install
• After installation Reboot the device
