Huawei’s former subsidiary – Honor has announced to resume Google Mobile Services (GMS) in smartphones soon with the launch of Honor 50 in the global market. Currently, Honor has not announced any specific launch date for this phone but the Chinese phone maker is likely to introduce the GMS-powered Honor 50 later this month.

“HONOR has succeeded in confirming cooperation with a number of supplier partners in the early stage. #HONOR50 series will be equipped with Google Mobile Services, which will provide a more comprehensive application environment and extraordinary mobile experience to our customers.”

Huawei and Honor Ban:

Following the event of May 2019, Huawei has been banned from using technologies made by U.S. companies including Google. In the aftermath, Huawei cannot certify new phones that are powered with Google apps as well as Play Store on fresh models.

As a matter of subsidiary, Honor also fall under the same circumstances and had to give up on GMS too. Last November, Huawei, and Honor went separate ways and sold to Shenzhen Zhixin New Information Technology Co. Ltd., a consortium of over 30 agents and dealers in China.

Since then, Honor has become an independent smartphone brand and can now its own flagship smartphones and also compete against top smartphone makers including Apple, Samsung, and Xiaomi.

Honor 50 features a 6.57-inch OLED panel with FHD+ (2340 x 1080 pixel) resolution, 1.07 billion colors, DCI-P3 wide color gamut. It has a quad rear camera system including 108MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP macro camera. On the front side, Honor 50 provides high-quality selfies with a 32Mp selfie camera.

The Honor 50 packs a 4300mAb battery with 66W superfast sharing, the overall time of a full recharge is measured about 45 minutes via USB Type-C port. For your information, Honor 50 tags with Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G Octa-core processor (4 × Cortex-A78 2.4GHz + 4 × Cortex-A55 1.8GHz) and Adreno 642L GPU. Huawei Mate X3 sample version begins to rollout, launching soon

Earlier this month, Huawei launched the Pocket S foldable smartphone. Now we’re getting inputs that Huawei Mate X3 is about to launch, as its sample version is out for retailers.

A Weibo tipster, Wangzai Knows reveals that the mass-produced sample version of the Huawei Mate X3 foldable phone started to rollout for retailers and smartphone sellers. It’s a good sign of progress and shows that we’ll soon witness the launch of the Huawei Mate X3.

That’s not it, the tipster also suggests that the Huawei Mate X3 will be a design-efficient smartphone. This means it will be thinner and more durable with a new foldable hinge system. To support consumers, Huawei Mate X3 will have a low price as compared to Mate X2.

Since it’s a flagship phone and Huawei is keen on using Qualcomm chipsets, the Mate X3 could use Snapdragon 8+. Still, it will only support 4G network access with an inward folding design.
