Are you receiving a huge 3 GB security update for your Honor 8X?

Last month, Honor started rolling stable EMUI 10 update for Honor 8X but some of the smartphones that stayed on the EMUI 9.1 receiving a new update with an update size of over 3GB and it’s not the EMUI 10.

This new update for Honor 8X includes December 2019 security patch with fixes to 3 critical, 24 high and 1 medium level of Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) found on Huawei/Honor smartphones.

Honor 8X getting EMUI versions 9.1.0.269 with 3.25GB. However, the same update, last month, rolled out with the same EMUI version but weighed only 129MB.

We reached the official about this update to find out whether it’s a mistake and they told us that the update size is correct.

Currently, there are no additional changes mentioned in the changelog except the security patch but we’re sure that it’s is a pre software update required to install the EMUI 10/Android 10.

EMUI 10 in Europe and other countries:

Honor has not initiated EMUI 10/Android 10 rollout in the European country for any of its devices, which expected to begin next month.
