Honor 8X getting a new EMUI 9.1 update with battery improvement, camera fixes, and more

Honor is sending a new software update to the Honor 8X smartphone. The latest update brings many important improvements and fixes. It also adds the July 2019 security patch.

According to the changelog, the update optimizes time zone data for a more precise time display and also optimizes phone battery performance. Additionally, it fixes an issue where Swift Key cannot be used in certain scenarios.

In the camera department, it fixes an issue where Fun AR was not working. The software version of this update is EMUI 9.1.0.234 and the size is 132MB.

Note: This version is pushed in batches. The EMUI versions and update size may vary depending on the market and models.

If you want to check for the update manually you can do this by following the instruction below:

Go to Settings > System > Software update > Check for Updates. If an update is available, it’ll ask if you want to download it.

If the update does not appear in the settings, we recommend you to request it via HiCare App: Go to HiCare app > tap on Update > click on the Checkbox and hit Apply.
