Honor 20 Lite on EMUI 10 began collecting March 2021 security update

Honor 20 Lite is a previous-gen smartphone, which was launched in 2019 and still receiving further security improvements. Honor is also good at taking care of its older consumer’s device system security. The company adopts this quality from its former owner brand – Huawei.

According to the latest information, Honor has kicked off a new software update for the Honor 20 Lite smartphone. It installs the security patch released in March 2021 that defends the phone against CVEs.

March 2021 Security Patch Details: This security patch fixes 2 critical, 13 high levels, and 132 medium levels of CVEs for improved system security.

To be mentioned, Honor doesn’t deliver firmware updates for this device on monthly basis but releases improvements in a short interval of time just like in quarterly updates. Users are advised to check and install the latest update for system security as well as device performance ehancements.

Aside from this, other models from the Honor 20 series such as Honor 20 and 20 Pro upgraded over the latest mobile phone operating system, Magic UI 4 in the recent past. However, Honor 20 Lite’s hardware and software aren’t able to run with Magic UI 4.

HOW TO CHECK AND INSTALL:

To download this update manually, go to Settings then System & updates, then open Software update, from here select Check for updates. If an update is available it’ll pop up on your phone and an option of Download and install will appear. Press the option and start to download.

Alternatively, you can also request software updates through the Support app. To do this, open the Support app, go to the Service tab on the bottom bar, tap on the update, then select Check for updates and then download and install.

New Software update details:

Version: Honor 20 Lite grabbing EMUI 10 version 10.0.0.251 and package size of 108MB.

Changelog: Integrates the Android security patch released in March 2021.

Before you upgrade:

  1. We recommend you take a backup of your important data.
  2. Use a stable connection to download the update package.
  3. Do not forcefully turn off the phone, once the installation is started.
