Global users of Honor 9X and 9X Pro waiting for EMUI 10.1, Pro version still running EMUI 9.1

Huawei is moving with its plan to rollout EMUI 11 for different devices and currently testing this latest EMUI version in China and European markets. Yet, the company’s subsidiary, Honor is still lagging to provide EMUI 10.1 for some of its devices including Honor 9X and 9X Pro.

Back in June, Honor pushed stable EMUI 10.1 for Honor 9X and Honor 9X Pro in China. As of now, even after four months of the initial rollout, the company has not started EMUI 10.1 rollout for these two smartphones.

Many of our readers reached us on this matter and showed us their concerns about the software update policy of Honor, particularly for these two devices. Aside from Honor 9X, the 9X Pro, which was launched in February in the global market, still running EMUI 9.1, while the standard upgraded on EMUI 10.0.

Following this story, we asked Honor about the EMUI 10.1 development for the Honor 9X series and received the following reply.

For Honor 9X:

“EMUI 10.1 update for Honor 9X is on the test because a lot of bugs for the update of honor 9X,” said the company.

Honor 9X Pro:

On Honor 9X Pro, we’re still waiting for a reply from Honor. However, the company is suggesting users to remain connected with Honor’s social channels.

Honor 9X and 9X Pro are one of the most purchased devices from Honor and we expect that the company will soon provide the latest EMUI version to these users.
