Find a bug in Huawei Software and win 1.2 million USD reward

During the Huawei Developer conference 2021, Huawei launched a device security vulnerability reward program for rewarding the developers who might succeed in finding any single software bug. Its aim is to encourage the developer around the world to equally contribute to the standardization of various security measurements.

According to the announcement, the company will grant prizes in two different categories- first include a maximum reward of 1.5 million Yuan for finding a single vulnerability in the company’s software. On the other hand, the developers will get 8 million Yuan for acknowledging any systemic bug in Huawei software.

Regarding this Huawei security vulnerability program, the company is negotiating with white hat security experts to join this venture. It also needs to note that this Chinese firm considers network security and privacy protection as its highest priority.

In addition, it has placed network and business security protection as the top commercial interests. Further in this line, we have also seen several collaborations to strengthen the cybersecurity arrangements previously.

The tech giant appears to be very confident about its recently launched lineup that includes HarmonyOS 3 developer preview, HMS Core 6, and leading development technologies. It describes “Four Proposition” related to consumer business security and privacy protection in addition.

Huawei Security and Privacy Protection:

In order to enhance security measurements, the developers have tightened the information access methods. Without the users’ permission, no one will be able to access the device’s data. No matter someone is rebooting the device or using it, the users have to show the owner’s consent. Furthermore, it “Four Proposition” includes-

  • Newly formed strict privacy and security principles
  • Improved security verification systems
  • New cooperation with ecological partners

At present, the company has about 5.1 million developers across the world that has brought us about over 173,000 apps in the HMS ecosystem. Additionally, the app distribution platform, Huawei AppGallery achieved 332.2 billion apps by the third quarter of 2021 registering a 62% of increase in market shares.
