Honor Play 8 smartphone on EMUI 9.1 is receiving the February 2022 EMUI security improvements, which protects the device against severe threats. However, this update is currently rolling out in batches in China.

According to the information, the February 2022 security update for Honor Play 8 is released with EMUI version 9.1.0.176 updated from 9.1.0.173. To be mentioned, this phone belongs to the mid-range segment and received only one major update since its unveiling.

As of now, Huawei has delivered the February 2022 update to most of its devices. But, a few old ones are still left and will get soon. By exploring the changelog, we have found only security and stability optimizations.

How to update step by step:

To update, open the settings of your smartphone and press the system option followed by software updates. Now, tap on the CHECK FOR UPDATES option and let the phone get the latest update for your device.

If you found the update, hit the download and install button and don’t perform any task on the mobile until the update gets done. After installing, the phone will automatically reboot.

Alternatively, you can perform the same tasks through the My Huawei app, open the app, go to the update section, follow on-screen instructions to download and install the update.
