The Mate 50 Pro is the first phone among all of the Huawei smartphones to get EMUI 13 but actually, it comes pre-installed. Since its launch, old phone users are waiting for a new major upgrade.
Recently, Huawei opened the beta program for a few flagships – P50 Pro, P50 Pocket, and Mate Xs 2 foldable phone. You should know that the latest EMUI 13 beta activity has limited slots and it’s available only for a region.

Huawei P30 series gets March 2023 update in China

Huawei P30 series is testing HarmonyOS 3 in China and the phone lineup is now receiving the March 2023 beta update to improve the test user experience.
According to the information, Huawei is sending this new firmware for the Huawei P30 series with March 2023 system optimization update. These models are receiving the new firmware push.
- P30 (ELE-AL00)
- P30 (ELE-TL00)
- P30 Pro (VOG-AL00)
- P30 Pro (VOG-AL10)
- P30 Pro (VOG-TL00)
These Huawei P30 devices are getting HarmonyOS 3 beta version 3.0.0.123 with a firmware size of 145 megabytes and it is rolling out in batches.
Huawei P30 series started its HarmonyOS 3 journey in December last year. It is still surprising for us that the company is still sending new software upgrades for the golden flagship.
After HarmonyOS 3, Huawei P30 and P30 Pro smartphones have been reinvented with new user interfaces, better features, and user experience. The key essential benefits of the new HarmonyOS version over its predecessor are big.
On the other hand, the company will conclude this beta test for smartphones and roll out a stable HarmonyOS 3 software update. Meanwhile in the global market, only Huawei P30 and P30 Pro are running EMUI 12, which kind of equivalent to HarmonyOS 2. But we could expect a better update this year with EMUI 13 if it appears.
Precautions:
This latest software update for the Huawei P30 series comes only after HarmonyOS 3.0.0.121. Therefore, it’s required for the beta testers to upgrade first to this version. You have the option to enable the customer user experience improvement program to provide feedback and help developers to improve the HarmonyOS 3 operating system.
Although, the update won’t erase your personal data but it’s suggested that you back any important files ahead of the installation. Since it’s a beta build, HarmonyOS 3 comes with various bugs and software compatibility. Hence, you should upgrade all of your system apps to the latest version via AppGallery.
Following the upgrade to the latest software version, your phone may generate heat, lag, and slow charging. This is caused by self-optimizations and adaptation actions, which will settle down within a few days of the rollout.
