Recently, Huawei has published a new technology patent for autonomous driving, which reveals the inclusion of new brake technology for autonomous vehicles and driving systems.

Details about this patent show that the patent has a breaking technology consisting of one wheel brake cylinder, the main brake model, an auxiliary brake module, and an electric linear pump. According to the information, this new autonomous braking system could provide long-term, high precision redundant braking.

In detail:

The One brake wheel cylinder is the main brake module for providing brake pressure to brake the vehicle. An auxiliary brake module includes an electric linear pump, a first pipeline, and a second pipeline. An electric linear pump includes a piston and a pump chamber.

The pump chamber is connected to the fluid reservoir through a second pipeline, once the piston moves away from the first interface, the pump chamber receives brake fluid from the reservoir through the second pipeline. Meanwhile, the first interface works as a bridge between the pump cavity and the first pipeline.

The pump cavity is connected to at least one brake wheel cylinder through the first pipeline. The piston can move toward the first interface and make the brake fluid in the pump cavity enter the first pipeline to provide brake pressure.
