WhatsApp is testing a brand new interface for the calling feature, which enables a better view of what’s actually going on while using this feature along with added functionality.

According to the information, WhatsApp is testing a brand new UI while the app dials a contact. The new interface has labels such as “WhatsApp voice call” and “End-to-end encrypted”.

It also has the option to add more contacts to the ongoing call with just a tap. The rest of the options in the tray below remains as usual including speaker, video, mute/unmute, and end call.

Currently, WhatsApp is testing this new calling interface only for the beta testers but it may soon rollout for all of the WhatsApp users with a stable release.
