WhatsApp introduces new ways to manage ‘events’ in communities

WhatsApp has shared a new blog on its official page, describing a bunch of ways that can help users manage ‘Events’ in communities. The chit-chat application firm aims to offer a more convenient and comprehensive user experience with better features.

Communities is a feature within WhatsApp that lets you combine a few groups and form a large one. It also enables you to create a community of your interest like marketing, housing, schooling, medical, and various other kinds of subjects.

In the latest edition, WhatsApp is introducing some new ways to manage Events in Communities as well as share organized replies in the groups for important updates.

Users can now easily plan events with their friends or group members via setting up a virtual meeting. Anyone can create an event and join others. Meanwhile, others can directly find the event on the group’s information page and will get a notification when the event is getting close.

Note that the company will initially roll out the event features to those groups that belong to a particular Community already. While other groups will be able to experience the feature in the upcoming months. Ensure to have the latest version of WhatsApp on your device.

Another interesting feature is Replies to Announcement Groups, where admins can hear their members to keep an eye on the Community activities. The company will gradually push off these functionalities to more users in the time ahead.
