Google releases Android 15 Beta 2 with significant privacy features
Following the second day of the I/O 2024 event, Google has now kicked off the Android 15 Beta 2 update for Pixel devices. The build is full of surprising and useful features that have your back in every situation. Let’s tour out the big changelog.

Android 15 Beta 2 update is reaching the flagship Google Pixel devices such as Pixel 6 series, Pixel 7 series, Pixel 8 series, Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, and Android Emulator.
One can opt for the Android Beta Program to install the newest update or even use the sideload method. Although ensure to have sufficient storage space and a complete backup of your important data before proceeding with the software installation.
The US tech giant is bringing the Android 15 Beta 2 firmware with the build number AP31.240426.022. It also brings the May 2024 security patch for better shielding of your data and eliminates harmful issues, resulting in system crashes or data loss.

1. Private Space: From the name, the feature lets users create a separate space for their private apps. It uses a different user profile other than the original one so that it can remain more private and eventually lock it when the device is locked.

These apps under the Private Space resides in a unique section in the app drawer and remains hidden in the recent group. Notification and alerts also remain secretive.
2. App Pairs: This is another interesting feature. Now you can save the pair of applications that you want to open in the split-screen mode. Just enable the split-screen mode on tablet or foldable and save the app combination open in both the windows.

3. Predictive Back: Often used for back-to-home gestures, the feature is now enabled by default. Thus, you don’t have to visit the developer option set to check system animations.
Some other enhancements that are available with this beta:
- Apps will now offer Remote Views to the widget picker. It means the widget picker can update the preview and make it more personal.
- Applications will only show the most recently selected images/videos on partial access to media permissions.
- Health Connect now gets 2 new data types section: Skin temperature and training plans.
- Android 15 lets you choose how your device’s software system should address you via language settings. The feature is currently available only for French language.
- Enriched vibrations for incoming notifications
- Smoother animation when entering the PiP (Picture in Picture) mode
- Android 15 prevent such apps installation that don’t comply with the UID on the stack. Hence, it ultimately prevents malicious apps to enter your device.
