“We should not be doing anything that will deter cooperation with our most valuable intelligence partners, the Five Eyes,” Johnson said on Friday when asked about Huawei at a campaign event, reported Reuters.

Five Eyes is an intelligence alliance comprising Australia, Canada, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, and the United States. As recently, the US told the UK not to proceed with Huawei’s network installation for 5G, otherwise, it’ll stop sharing intelligence with the UK.

Back in April, Britain’s National Security Council, chaired by Prime Minister Theresa May, already allowed Huawei to take part in the development of non-core parts in the country’s infrastructure. Later on, Huawei equipment was used in the UK’s 5G carrier launch by EE and more want to join the company.
