Telecom provider in the UK has started using Huawei’s equipment to kick off the country’s 5G services, on the other hand, the US government is planning to send a warning message to the UK and threatens to end intel sharing over Huawei.
Donald Trump is planning to threaten to limit intelligence sharing with Britain if the government allows Huawei to build part of country’s 5G mobile network, a message he’ll deliver in person during his visit to London next week, reported FinancialTimes.
British and US officials said on Thursday that the US president had decided to raise the issue during the three-day visit to Britain.
After Huawei’s ban in the US, Donal Trump is also forcing its allies countries to bar the Chinese telecom giant in their territories.
Last month, the National Security Council (NSC), chaired by Britain’s prime minister Theresa May agreed to allow Huawei limited access to building “non-core” infrastructure such as antennas.
This decision from the UK came after US intelligence reported some serious issue in Huawei’s working terminology and allegations that the firm is working under the Chinese government.
Huawei has always denied being controlled by the Chinese government or any other related agency, or that its work poses any risks of spying and sabotage.
