Twitter is now ‘X’, web version gets new logo, Android and iOS next

Twitter is one of the most popular platforms in the world and we love to interact with our readers on the Elon Musk-led social media site but it’s now renamed as ‘X’. This is really happening and the Twitter owner has announced that Bluebird will now be known as the X app.

On July 23, 2023, Musk posted on Twitter that the URL “X.com” will now redirect to Twitter. Indicating that all URL is now merged into Twitter.

After migrating all of the Twitter data, X.com will host all of Twitter’s users. I’ve also opened the URL, which is now functional and sending users to Twitter.com.

Twitter CEO, Linda Yaccarino also announced the arrival of X and wrote “It’s an exceptionally rare thing – in life or in business – that you get a second chance to make another big impression. Twitter made one massive impression and changed the way we communicate. Now, X will go further, transforming the global town square.”

She explained this new brand identity is going to form an everything app “Centered in audio, video, messaging, payments/banking – a global marketplace for ideas, goods, services, and opportunities.”. This has been a long-time vision of Musk inspired by the Chinese chat app – WeChat.

The Twitter chief also shared the new logo, which is going to be the new face of Twitter instead of a bird.

Change in Web version:

On July 24, 2023, Twitter has begun to rollout the brand identity including the logo for the web version. As users are noticing new logos and loading screen all across the website consisting of the “X” logo.

Ahead of that, all of teh Twitter official accounts have changed their profile pic to reflect the latest improvements across the board.

Android and iOS:

The latest graphical changes are underway and may take a few days to complete the transition. The X is soon be coming on Android and iOS apps within the same timeline. Among these two, iOS is likely to get the first spot.
