TSMC 5nm chip revenue for the Q2 2021 reached 2.4 billion USD, says report

Then 5nm (nanometer) revenue of the world’s leading semiconductor company, Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) recorded 2.4 billion USD in the second quarter of 2021, says the recent media report.

As per the information, TSMC recently published its business report for the 2021 second quarter. The 5nm chip production contributed about 18% of the total revenue of the chip manufacturer.

Also, the chip foundry accounted for a total of 13.29 billion USD for the 2nd quarter of this year, where only 5nm process registered about 2.392 billion USD, which is 18% of the total credits.

The company’s revenue for the first quarter was 12.92 billion USD, while the TSMC 5nm process accounted for 1.809 billion USD with 14% of benefaction in the quarterly revenue. However, it’s still behind compared with the fourth quarter’s revenue in 2020, which was 12.68 billion USD including a 20% contribution of  5nm process with 2.536 billion USD.

Besides, the 5nm has been mass-producing since the first quarter of 2020, and with its supplying the TSMC’s revenue increased by 10%. Additionally, as the mass production extension time passes by the company’s revenue will achieve more heights in terms of annual revenue.

Global Chip Market Report:

Recently, the global chip market report has been published by the research firm IC Insights. It shows that the worldwide chip market is reached 155.2 billion US dollars for the first quarter of 2021.

The DRAM chips accounted for 19.2 billion USD with 8% of the increase and 56% of market share, NAND and NOR were jointly accountable for 43% of the total market share in 1Q 2021. Meanwhile, the rest products only recorded the slightest market share of 1%.
