Earlier we reported that Huawei is likely to use different screen sizes for its next Mate flagship. Following the previous leak, a new input says that the standard Huawei Mate 70 could equip a flat display while high-end models may use curved screens.

Weibo tipster @SmartPikachu noted that the Huawei Mate 70 series might bring a flat display for the standard model whereas, a curved panel for the high-end variants.

This will eventually allow users to have choices as per their display needs. Note that the same tipster reported that the Mate 70 flagship will follow the Pura 70 series in terms of screen sizes, but with better camera features and optical upgrades.

Types of Display Panels:

  • Flat Screen

If you are a game or movie lover, then a flat screen seems a perfect choice. It ensures a glare-free experience around the phone’s edges. Considered a GO-TO screen, you can easily install tempered glass on it, and replace it in no time, if broken.

  • Curved Screen

Such types of display panels provide a polished, sleeky, and eye-catching look to your device. It brings a bezel-less design. The visual experiences get more depth and greater immersion. It is also lightweight but could be risky in terms of grip.

Both screens have their own merits and demerits. Yet if the company plans to opt for both panels in its upcoming premium lineup, then users may get more choices to opt for their suitable display experience.

Huawei has only pointed out that the Mate 70 series will show up later this year, so far. However, the OEM has neither said anything about its launch timeline nor the online leaks and speculations. Hence we need to wait for official confirmation.

Though it is worth mentioning that the Mate 60 series is based on the same display concept. Standard Mate 60 uses a flat screen while the Pro and Pro+ variants feature curved panels. Perhaps the Mate 70 lineup could continue this display idea.

New Kirin Chip!

Another interesting implement on the Mate 70 series might be a powerful Kirin 5G processor. The company is constantly unveiling new chips these days for its products. And we may find enhancements in this subject with the upcoming flagship.
