Huawei Mate X5 foldable beats Mate X3 sales record by 3.5 times: Tipster

A Weibo tipster says that Huawei Mate X5 excellence made it surpass the sales record of its predecessors – Mate X3 foldable by 3.5 times. The device is ruling in the folding phone market and continues to achieve great results in terms of popularity.

Blogger @SmartChipInsider says that China has made rapid progress in the foldable phone market after the second half of last year. A big piece of this achievement belongs to the booming sales of the Mate X5 that arrived in September 2023.

The tipster further sheds light on the current foldable market data and says that the Huawei Mate X5 sales record exceeded by 3.5 times compared to the Mate X3.

At the same time, the newly launched Pocket 2 flip-flop model is showing great outcomes and selling well in the home ground. Some inputs suggest that the company may soon release the respective clamshell for its global consumers.

Note that neither Huawei nor any other research firm report has confirmed the mentioned sales record. Hence the accuracy of this leak swirls around the doubt circle.

Although we can expect these results to some extent as the Mate X5 sales have ultimately helped the Chinese tech giant to spot first place in the Q4 2024 China’s foldable market. The OEM has built the device with many impressive segments.

The tipster also pointed out that new foldable phones from several brands are on the way and will soon hit the ground. Meanwhile, those who are looking forward to the tri-fold handsets can wait till the second half of this year. Thus, we can expect to see the world’s first triple-fold device from Huawei shortly.

Mate X5: Specifications

The device flaunts a 7.85-inch main display panel alongside a 6.4-inch cover screen. It arrives in two versions: standard and Collector’s Edition with varied specs.

Both models have a 3D quad-curved OLED slate with a resolution of 2496 x 2224 pixels and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also supports a 1440Hz high-frequency PWM dimming, 426 PPI, and up to 300hz touch sampling rate.

Huawei Mate X5 features a triple-cam setup on the rear side with a 50MP main lens, a 13MP ultrawide shooter, and a 12MP periscope sensor. On the front side, you will find an 8MP camera for selfie purposes.
