However, Huawei is still developing the HarmonyOS for mobile platform and at HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile developer beta event on March 25, Duan Mengran, VP of Huawei’s Consumer Business AI and Smart Full Scenario Business Department shared the latest developments in the HarmonyOS ecosystem to give us the latest insights on this brand new operating system.
At the event, Duan announced HarmonyOS 2.0 Mobile Developer Beta 3, mentioned over 16000 API, and focused on introducing the new types of lightweight application services, meta-services, and explained the capability of the HarmonyOS development tool, DevEco Studio.
Last December, Huawei announced the HarmonyOS 2.0 mobile developer beta program, which according to the latest data, has now gained 300 application partners to develop the HarmonyOS app ecosystem.
Also, the number of users of HarmonyOS development tool, DevEco Studio has exceeded 150,000 and the number of HarmonyOS official documents has exceeded 5 million. The HarmonyOS developer innovation competition has attracted more than 2800 teams to register.
Duan also explained the importance of HarmonyOS Meta service, which is a new type of lightweight service and provides brand-new services and interaction methods, which can be divided and combined, flowable, and support installation-free features. It can simplify apps and simplify services at your fingertip.
In addition to a brand new innovative user experience, HarmonyOS partners can also use more efficient conversions, richer entrances, and simpler development to help them succeed in business.

Huawei June 2022 update brings security improvements for Enjoy 20 5G phones
Huawei’s latest smartphones have already received the June 2022 security patch, so the company is now turning its attention to the entry-level models. Currently, the 5G variant Huawei Enjoy 20 is getting the June 2022 security update.
The June 2022 HarmonyOS update is rolling out in the home market for the respective device users. It has a firmware number 126.96.36.199 which is upgraded from the previous HarmonyOS build. Hence, to install the update, users must have their devices running on the 188.8.131.52 version.
