November and December 2021 security updates for Huawei Mate Xs rolling out [Global]

Huawei folding smartphone – Mate Xs has started grabbing a new EMUI software update that brings security improvements that protect the device against threats. The latest firmware comes with EMUI 11 version 11.0.0.206.

The new changelog reveals that it consisted of two update packages in which the first update log installs November 2021 security patch to improve the system security. While the second package enhances overall smartphone security by adding December 2021 security improvements.

To be mentioned, Huawei Mate Xs new update comes with an installation package size of 588MB. Currently, this update is rolling out in Europe and soon expand to more Mate Xs models launched in different markets.

Update size: 588MB

Changelog:

• Update log 1: Integrates security patches released in November 2021 for improved system security.
• Update log 2: Integrates security patches released in December 2021 for improved system security.

November 2021 EMUI patch Details:

The November 2021 Huawei EMUI security patch fixes 1 critical, 22 high, 8 medium levels of CVEs as well as resolves 2 high levels and 8 levels of medium CVEs in third party library.

December 2o21 EMUI patch Details:

The December 2021 security patch fixes to 2 critical, 15 high, and a massive 38 number of CVE in medium level in the system and 7 high levels as well as 22 medium levels of threats fixes in libraries.

• The update is rolling out in batches so it may take some time/days to reach your device.
• EMUI version and size may vary.
• Maintain enough battery and storage on your device.

Update steps:

There are two ways that you can download this latest software update, both of these areas the following:

VIA SETTINGS:

1. Go to Settings
2. Tap on System & updates
3. Tap Software update
4. Tap Check for Updates
5. Download and Install
6. Install

After the installation and restart, we recommend you let the system optimize the new application so your device can run smoothly on further commands.
