New Huawei AITO M5 smart car launched with luxurious design, DATS 2.0, and more

Today, Huawei and AITO officially launched the new Wenjie M5 Smart Car with tech-pack features, a luxurious appearance, and a bunch of the latest automobile solutions. The launch took place at the Beijing Auto Show 2024 conference.

Design:

New AITO M5 model highlights the charm, vitality, and magic of robust performance. It has a closed front-face appealing layout. It arrives in three variants:

• New AITO M5 MAX RS Extended Range

The third variant hypes an exclusive Obsidian sports package with a new Obsidian logo and sports wheel giving a power-pack feel to consumers. Yu Chengdong – the CEO of Huawei Consumer Business Group says that the entire smart car series is covered in an aesthetic design concept derived from the flagship smartphones of the industry.

Compared to the original AITO M5 model launched in 2023, the new car has additional two colors for an eye-catching look: Tahitian Gray and Metropolitan Red.

Overall, you can choose from Gilt Black, Ceramic White, and Azure Blue. In terms of interior shades, three colors are available: Bird Feather Red, Shaohua Apricot, and Amber Blue. All these paints display a matte finish on the internal parts of the car.

Internal appearance also includes a sun-protective panoramic canopy, double-layer silent glass on all sides, an intelligent air mixing system, star ring scatterers, and electric sunshades.

Speed Power:

AITO’s new M5 smart car falls in the high-profile urban performance SUV. It accelerates speed from 0-60 within 4.3 seconds and bears a maximum torque of 675N m.

Extended Range Max version of this series has a comprehensive range of up to 1,440km under CLTC scenarios while the Pure Electric variant reaches 255km. Meanwhile, AITO raised the braking speed by 120km/h, 120km/h, and 110km/h.

Huawei AITO’s new M5 smart car possesses an aluminum alloy chassis, a front four-ball double wishbone suspension, and integrates the Huawei DATS 2.0 solution for smart collaboration with phones/tablets, flexible as well as free user experience.

Further parameters include a lidar consisting of millimeter wave, machine vision, ultrasonic, and fusion perception systems. The EV also has a remote parking feature that enables it to position itself in and out of ultra-narrow parking spaces, conveniently.

Safety Features:

To begin with, the Huawei ADS 2.0 lidar multi-sensor perception system is one of the prominent solutions in the New M5 model. This automated driving system is a smart technology that simplifies the vehicle’s driving concept and supports several features.

Next, the Huawei ADS 2.0 links with the GOD and RCR Network 2.0 to recognize special-shaped objects precisely and detect stationary vehicles, pedestrians, and more.

Lateral Active Safety and Rear Collision Avoidance is another segment. This mode, when enabled under the human driving mode, supports 40-130km/h active obstacle avoidance in a lateral direction. It also has an AEB (Active Emergency Braking) effective range of 0-60km/h.

Expansion of AEV in the active safety system also supports the car’s forward and backward low-speed driving and covers rolling collision conditions. It automatically turns on the 360-degree environmental perception when detects a risk of collision.
