Once again, we witnessed a new frame leak of the Huawei Mate 60 series, which shows that the phone comes with bottom metal hardware and it’s part of the design.

The image coming from DigitalChatStation shows that the Mate 60 series uses a splicing scheme of both metal and glass combinations. On the top side, the frame has various openings for cameras and wireless charging.

What’s most interesting is that Huawei switched from a full glass panel to a dual-material rear. The top side has a sort of sliced placeholder for the entire camera and glass panel but on the bottom, you will see a metal part to hold your grip. Interstingly, the metal is part of the frame. It also means that you will only see the decorative back glass above this metal segment.

Currently, this change only reflects aesthetics but there might be some other aspects that we need to explore. DCS indicates that the metal might have something to do with the 5G connectivity. However, the tipster refrained from saying too much on this matter.

Past input reveals that the metal bottom might help in the heat dissipation in the Huawei Mate 60 series. It’s suggested that the company will use the housing to include more heat dissipation hardware inside the device.

It could also work as a conductor for the heat to release better but we don’t know the outcome of the solution or what Huawei is planning to do with this.

Earlier today, a set of live images leaked online, which show the phone’s rear with a circular camera setup and a middle decorative part consisting of XMAGE branding.

The dual color tone is visible all around and it’s eye-catching. Some other leak hints that the Huawei Mate 60 series will launch on September 12 but Huawei is yet to announce it officially.
