HarmonyOS NEXT Galaxy is currently running in the developer preview stage and it looks like the new OS could offer a simplistic user interface to tablets. A leak has added new insights to the latest HarmonyOS version for large-screen devices.

Tipster @FixedFocus recently dropped an image on Weibo describing the HarmonyOS NEXT user interface for tablets. The picture holds the new Huawei MatePad Pro 13.2 and Mate 60 Pro smartphone.

Tablet:

Eventually, the overall interface on the tablet appears minimalistic and user-friendly. It further highlights a clean app bar with medium-sized icons to quickly switch between frequently used applications. Besides, the music widget appears at the center of the screen with clear fonts and tabs.

The tipster also mentions that the new system update may result in the elimination of data from your devices. Hence, it is important to take a complete backup beforehand.

HarmonyOS NEXT is a self-developed and real operating system that runs on entirely new and original components. It doesn’t rely upon traditional Linux and has completely cut ties with Android applications.

Meanwhile, the company is working to expand the scope of new OS in China. Huawei hopes to develop around 5000+ HarmonyOS native apps by the end of this year. Till now, more than 70 gaming apps have finished the HarmonyOS native app development.

In the second quarter of 2024, the Chinese tech giant will gear up the HarmonyOS NEXT development phase and release the developer beta version. Whereas, the stable build will roll out by Q4. It would be worth seeing what new additions the software system will bring to the surface.
